In a 5 day intensive painting
workshop at the Palais Palffy (same building as the new Phantasten Museum) in
Vienna, Amanda Sage is offering a program focused on a revised version of the
Misch-Technik, as well as her insight & experience in traveling & living
in the international community as a part of the budding movement of Visionary
Art.
A former student of Michael Fuchs & student/assistant to Ernst
Fuchs for many years, Aman...da
Sage is now offering transformational workshops around the globe, diving into an
intensive exploration of traditional methods in visual art as well as embarking
on a journey to cultivate personal style & voice...

Exploring
techniques based on the early renaissance methods of under-painting and glazing,
this workshop will focus on observing fundamental principles of light, color
& form in the natural and ‘visionary’ worlds.
Developing an eye to see
nature through rendering our perception by working in pastel on toned paper,
while also following the fundamentals of painting with acrylic & oil.

In learning the basic laws of nature the impossible becomes possible, and
by communicating through the visual language we can explore visions and
narratives in a way that transcends separation, creating work that speaks
straight to the heart.

A perfect introduction, and or expansion of
technique, for the beginner & advanced  artist.

The ultimate goal
of this 5 day workshop is empowerment, that we realize our potential by refining
the creative power within. Our paint brushes become tools to expand and grow as
we transform into living inspirations, and through persistence, dedication and a
great dose of love, we become masters...

DEUTSCHE FASSUNG:

€ 350.- (drei Tage)  –
Mittwoch bis Freitag, wenn genügend Plätze vorhanden

Unterrichtszeiten:
Mittwoch, 12.Oktober bis Sonntag, 16.Oktober von 10 bis 18 Uhr (eine Stunde
Pause)
Maximale Zahl an TeilnehmerInnen: 12 Personen

It is with great  sadness that I forward the news of our dear friend and fellow Visionary Artist   Robert Venosa's passing.

Let us all pray for his safe journey and also for healing of his loved ones hearts.

ROBERT VENOSA
January 21, 1936 to August 9, 2011

Dear Friends and Community,

A great soul has completed his earthly  journey and graduated to the next level.

The great Venosa left his body
on Tuesday August 9, 2011 at 6:56 PM.

His transition was graceful and
accomplished in the same composed and calm manner that he exuded throughout his
life.

I feel honored to have been able to accompany him to the gate,
having walked 30 beautiful years together in this life.

Robert had a long  and brave healing journey with cancer and showed incredible strength on this  path as well as tremendous courage in facing this great dragon.

He  believed in the natural healing ability of the human body and proved the doctors
wrong time and again, who only gave him a few month’s to live upon his diagnosis
over eight years ago.

He was a powerful human being. Together he and I,  held the piece of his physical struggle safely tucked away from the eyes of the  world like a precious pearl.

It is with great sadness that I’m sharing  this news today but also with deep gratitude, for his magical and special  life; fully lived.

Even in death he gave those surrounding him a  powerful initiation into the scared mysteries of the unknown.

We will  carry him in our hearts forever, remembering the light he shone on so many.  He  so appreciated the light that others shone upon him.

In loving memory of  my great love, compañero, best friend and artistic accomplice.

Robert Venosa with Martina Hoffmann at Venosa's exhibition at MicroCoSM Gallery, NYC 2008
Our friend and Visionary brother, Robert Venosa, has died.  Sad news to all
in the visionary community for whom he was an inspirational mentor and
fountainhead.  Roberto's artwork evoked the glistening jewel-like imaginal
worlds inhabited by luminous celestial angels, with an utterly unique and finely
crafted style.  His work became familiar to an international audience through
exhibitions and appearances, through his monographs, Manas Manna,
Noospheres
, and Illuminatus, through countless magazine and
newspaper articles, plus his web presence.  Many came to know him through the
classes in "Painting the Fantastic" that he co-taught  with his beloved partner,
the distinguished artist, Martina Hoffmann.  Venosa was a much sought-after
keynote speaker at festivals and congresses of like-minded visionaries. He
introduced H.R. Giger to Salvador Dali. He studied painting with the late great
Mati Klarwein and the venerable Ernst Fuchs, later exhibiting with them as
peers.  Bridging the world-wide Visionary Art community, Venosa was an emissary
of the power of imagination, a courageous artist willing to declare that his
visions had sometimes been catalyzed by psychedelics. We send healing prayers to
all that suffer from the loss of Roberto, especially his family and dear Martina
who devotedly gave herself to his care.

We love you Roberto, we bet heaven looks just like you painted it! www.venosa.com

L´Ange Exquis

Richard Kirk, a valued member of our Visionary Art Network,  just released this very exciting news on Facebook:

Now that the above advertisement has been published, I can finally let the proverbial cat out of the bag. The cat in this case being the news that I will be spending a good deal of 2011 illustrating the 25th anniversary edition of Clive Barker's Weaveworld. It will be published by Earthling, who I have worked with for a number of years on projects, illustrating the the writing of Christopher Golden, China Mieville and Jeffery Thomas. I read Weaveworld when it first came out in the mid 1980s, my first thought on finishing the book, was "man would I like to illustrate this thing." Actually there was an expletive in there but I'll spare you that detail. Well, now I am getting my shot. Can't wait. As many of you know, I've had the good fortune to work with Clive Barker on a number of projects. I think this will be the best yet!

Other news (and apologies to my FB pals that have already heard this), issue 301 of Fangoria Magazine will carry a profile on my work written by David Goodfellow. David is an excellent writer and has done a great job of taking my ramblings and putting them into a nice coherent whole. There will be pictures with the profile of course, so check it out!

Finally, I am very busy completing the first draft of The Red Lamprey, my next novel from Radiolaria Studios. I hope to have that done in early January when I will start the illustrations and begin the careful revisions, additions, deletions and so on. The story continues where The Lost Machine left off, but is an entirely new stand alone tale. My dear friend Hans Rueffert will be writing a foreword.

 Happy New Year everyone!

 Richard.
