Anahata is the chakra located in the heart region. It's connected to the capacity for deep love and to the feelings of compassion and empathy. Through this chakra we are able to connect to our "inner Christ" and to the upper planes. This principle inspired me to create a piece about love and its power. Ascension shows how universal love can be compared to a genuine spiritual experience, leading to freedom from the material condition and to a deep inner transformation.
MATERIA
"Materia" (Latin word for matter) is a series of four paintings that deal with the notion of chemical structure of the human body and its relation with the circular forms of the sacred geometry (mandalas), while attempting to transmit a sense of energetic nurturing through colors and symbolic images related to each one of the four elements - Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. The base for the mandala drawing is the main structure of a molecule of ferritin, a protein that exists in almost all living organisms and that is responsible for the storage and release of iron, an essential element to life.
